Labor Day Weekend in West Phoenix

This weekend is the perfect time to visit our neighbors at West Wind Glendale (5650 N 55th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301) for a drive in movie! Our apartment community is just a 15 minute drive over to West Wind Glendale. You can purchase your tickets online or at the box office. This theater is open every day of the year and it’s one of the largest in the United States, with 9 screens! Visit the Desert Botanical Garden ! Our Phoenix apartment community is just a 25 minutes drive over to this fantastic garden. Visit them soon to experience their incredible Flashlight Tour and Night Market . Or you can go see their Mighty Monarchs exhibit which will be on display until November 14th! Stay in this long weekend right here in your luxury apartment home. Our apartment community is a great place to spend your long weekend. Enjoy all of the amenities that we have to offer. Check in with our office staff to see if you can reserve our community BBQ to grill up something tasty this weekend. Spend your day in the expansive pool or get toasty in the hot tub/spa. Or, you can always head indoors to our clubhouse and whip something up in our community kitchen! Champis Bakery : 10575 W Indian School Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392 Champis Bakery is somewhat new to the scene here in Arizona but their baked goods are anything but amateur. This bakery serves a wide variety of sweet treats from Danishes to Donuts, Cookies to Croissants, as well as a variety of Mexican specialties. Our apartment community is just an 8 minute drive over to Champis Bakery, so visit them today! Daily Donut : 10725 W Indian School Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392 Just down the road from Champis Bakery is the incredible Daily Donut! This family owned shop is one worth checking out, people on Yelp highly recommend their Jalapeño, Ham & Cheese croissants and freshly made donuts. Enjoy the short 8 minute drive over to Daily Donut the next time you get a donut craving! Kneader’s Bakery & Cafe : 10112 W McDowell Rd, Avondale, AZ 85323 If you don’t want to leave the comfort of your Acero at Algodon Center apartment home, consider Kneader’s Bakery & Cafe! This fantastic bakery offers delivery as well as takeout. Kneader’s Bakery & Cafe offers an assortment of Pastries, Desserts, and Breads! The Best Hikes in West Phoenix

Looking for an adventure or something fun to do this weekend? Take a hike! No, really take a hike! West Phoenix is near so many great trails and hikes and your home at Acero at Algodon Center is in the center of it all. According to the City of Phoenix website, “Phoenix is home to more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserves, and 200-plus miles of trails. Millions of people enjoy city trails every year.”. The opportunities are endless! Grand Canal Trail | Glendale, AZ This hike is great for hikers of various skill levels. It’s designed to encourage running, walking, as well as road biking! You can even bring your dog along, just be sure to have them on a leash. Recent visitors have said, “Birds everywhere! The sights and sounds were lovely!” ( AllTrails ). Grand Canal Trail | Phoenix, AZ When you go to search for the Glendale hike be sure you’re heading to the correct location. Phoenix, AZ also has a Grand Canal Trail, however this trail is for hikers who are up for a bit more of a challenge. This trail has a higher elevation and the length of the trail is also longer in distance. Dreamy Draw Recreation Area to Piestewa Peak | Phoenix, AZ Level up your hiking and visit Dreamy Draw Recreation Area to Piestewa Peak! This hike is the most difficult of the ones we have mentioned so far. Phoenix Parks and Recreation has a section of their website dedicated to this trail, learn more about the trail here . Please make sure to hike safely, it’s getting very hot in West Phoenix and we want to be sure that everyone stays safe. Bring your water bottle and stay hydrated!
